Rickey was the shelter's longest resident with no adoption applications. He became The Comeback Pack's very first rescue, and he has now gone home on a trial adoption with someone who followed his story for a long time.

Shawshank was found abandoned in a cage on a demolished property, with no food or water in 110-degree heat — and somehow, he held on. About 3 years old, around 43 pounds, and possibly a Heeler mix, he's neutered, vaccinated, great with other dogs, and incredibly sweet. He's not a turnkey dog: he's still learning leash and house manners, and he'll need a family willing to keep teaching him. But he has very good bones, and he's officially ready for adoption.

Pretty was sitting in an overcrowded shelter when one of the volunteers took an immediate liking to her. She's about a year old, a Dutch Shepherd mix around 43 pounds, and by the pack's own accounting there is not one bad thing to say about her. Spayed, essentially house trained, great with other dogs, and ridiculously happy to be here, this family dog just needs a family of her own.

Ginger and her daughter Annie were the terrified pair hiding at the back of a crowded shelter kennel, and they were running out of time. Then came a text that changed everything: Ginger had given birth to three tiny puppies. Within a day, she and all three babies were out of the shelter and settled into a foster home, with Annie right behind them. Mama and her puppies, Gilligan, MaryAnn, and Skipper, are doing beautifully.

By nine months old, Phoenix had already been rescued once as a tiny puppy, adopted, and returned to a shelter. When we found her there, we walked her out and gave her a new name to match her new life. She's a smart, goofy, 50-pound pittie mix in her rambunctious teenage era, fabulous with other dogs, and looking for a foster or a forever family who will know she isn't temporary.

Birdie is a petite, gentle Black Mouth Cur mix who had been waiting at the shelter far too long for someone to choose her. When her foster mom came straight from work to meet the dogs who needed us, Birdie pressed her little body against her and seemed to know she had found her person. She has settled in like she's always belonged there. She'll be spayed this week and then officially available for adoption, but if you're already in love, you don't have to wait to apply. This girl is a gem.

Sam is the eternal optimist of the litter — the puppy who wakes up convinced every day is going to be the best day ever. Raised alongside cats and dogs in his foster home, he's affectionate, playful, and has never met a stranger. Now he's found the family who's PERFECT for him.

Dean may have been the smallest puppy in the litter, but nobody ever told him that. Confident, curious, and endlessly entertaining, he greeted every new person and every new dog like they were about to become his best friend — and now he's home for good.

Willowdean was one of the shelter's longest residents — until Anna, who'd recently lost her own beloved husky, saw her story online and couldn't stop thinking about her. It was love at first sight at their meet and greet, and now Willowdean finally has the home she waited so long for.

Dumplin' (formerly Jojo) became the shelter's longest resident — a timid black dog of unknown breed, easy to scroll past. But a foster home gave him time to decompress, and the sweet, silly, gentle dog underneath the fear finally got to be seen. Today, he found his forever family: a dog-loving couple who gave themselves a year to grieve their own longtime dogs before opening their hearts again — and fell for him immediately.

Samson is a gorgeous young husky, about 1.5 years old and 57 pounds, who joined The Comeback Pack, settled in with his foster family like he'd always been part of the crew, and has now found his forever family — complete with new husky siblings.

Stormy Skye tested positive for parvo right after her rescue as an underage puppy. After weeks of careful care from her foster family she beat it, blossomed into a happy, confident, playful little girl, and now has the very best part of her story: a family of her very own, with a kid to grow up with.

Fawn was born to a stray dog living in a homeless encampment, and she and her sister were rescued before that life could become theirs. A foster family helped this shy little girl build her confidence, then helped her find the perfect family — one related to their own, so this isn't really goodbye.
