Pack Journeys

Shawshank was found abandoned in a cage on a demolished property, with no food or water in 110-degree heat — and somehow, he held on. About 3 years old, around 43 pounds, and possibly a Heeler mix, he's neutered, vaccinated, great with other dogs, and incredibly sweet. He's not a turnkey dog: he's still learning leash and house manners, and he'll need a family willing to keep teaching him. But he has very good bones, and he's officially ready for adoption.

Ginger and her daughter Annie were the terrified pair hiding at the back of a crowded shelter kennel, and they were running out of time. Then came a text that changed everything: Ginger had given birth to three tiny puppies. Within a day, she and all three babies were out of the shelter and settled into a foster home, with Annie right behind them. Mama and her puppies, Gilligan, Mary Ann, and Skipper, are doing beautifully, and as of October 26 Ginger and her babies are officially available for adoption.

Mary Ann is the one and only girl among Ginger's three newborn puppies, born just before her mama walked out of the shelter with her whole litter on 2026-09-02. Like her brothers Gilligan and Skipper, she was named for a crew of famous castaways. She's eating, growing, and being ridiculously tiny in her foster home, and she is now accepting adoption applications.

Hope is a tiny senior poodle, an estimated 12 years old and under eight pounds, with some big medical needs. The good news so far: her eye may not need to be removed after all, though she will likely lose most, if not all, of her teeth, and she may have some hearing loss. The shelter desperately wanted her to get care, and once a foster said yes, we got to say yes too. She's now safe, comfortable, medicated, and loved, working through her vet care one step at a time.

Molly is a senior Lab mix, about 10 years old and around 43 pounds, and Lucy's sister. She is an incredibly sweet, affectionate and independent girl who lives happily with several dogs and is fine with older kids, though she would do best in a home without very young children. Her whole world disappeared in a matter of days, but after time in foster care she is now available for adoption.

Gargoyle is a brindle and white French Bulldog mix who spent time at the shelter suffering from painful skin infections. The Comeback Pack got him out, and his first vet visit found multiple skin and ear infections, all fixable, with treatment now underway in his foster home. Also known as Goyle, he loves kids, is crate trained, and is stealing hearts everywhere he goes.

Castiel was scheduled to be euthanized, and even in the stress of the shelter he kept reaching for connection: he wanted to be touched and to be close, and he was a staff favorite. The Comeback Pack saved him and gave him a new name. He's about 2 years old and 75 pounds, safe and doing great in boarding, already a favorite there too, but he belongs in a foster home with a confident foster comfortable with larger dogs.

Lilith is about 2 years old and 56 pounds of shiny gray perfection, with soulful eyes, ridiculously cute ears and freckled toes. She's a happy, affectionate, people-loving girl who walks well on a leash, rides great in the car, and is great with other dogs after proper introductions. She came into the shelter as a stray and was rescued the day she was scheduled to die.

Bumphrey Hogart is a young, friendly 35-pound dog who was scheduled for euthanasia when The Comeback Pack learned about him. A transporter, a temporary foster and a regular foster all came together in a few hours, and he got out. He's incredibly friendly, sweet and happy-go-lucky, and fully convinced that he's the perfect size for a lap dog. He's crate trained, hilarious, and now officially ready for adoption.

Willie Good Time is a happy, playful, snuggly puppy of about 12 weeks, believed to be a Dutch Shepherd mix with an estimated adult weight around 50 pounds. He and his sister, Parton My Sass, were found abandoned and struggling to survive, and Rovers Return Dog Rescue trapped them and brought them to The Comeback Pack. They were the skinniest puppies we had ever seen, but they went straight to the vet and are gaining weight like champs. Willie is good with kids, dogs and cats, and he is now available for adoption.

Chupa (short for Chupacabra) is a 2-year-old, 13-pound Chihuahua mix who was found running loose in Wildomar. He's our shy little underbite king: very timid at first, gentle and sweet, and he needs a little patience while he learns to trust. Once you're in his inner circle he wants nothing more than to be cradled upside down like a baby. He's crate trained, great with dogs and cats, neutered, and ready for adoption, ideally together with his presumed brother Cadejo.

Cadejo (Cade for short) is the outgoing brother of Chupa, a 13-pound Chihuahua mix with pointy ears and the confidence of a dog three times his size. He's friendly, playful and an all-around delightful little dude who is always ready to make a new friend. He's crate trained, great with dogs and cats, neutered, and ready for adoption, ideally together with Chupa.

Meet Sir William Flufflebutt, but you can call him Bill! He's a big, fluffy, happy-go-lucky Border Collie mix of about 5 years and an estimated 70+ pounds of pure love. He loves attention, has no concept of personal space, and is even cat friendly.

Sadie is about 1½ years old, a petite 40 to 50 pound plott hound or pittie mix who is sweet, gentle, bubbly and easygoing. She's house trained and crate trained, fantastic with other dogs, cats and even little kids, and a gentle follower who can be shy at first but badly wants to join the fun. The Comeback Pack rescued her with her kennel mate, Sir William Flufflebutt, after watching her wait at the shelter for months.

Myers, formerly Toby, is one of two longtime shelter residents who were completely overlooked for months until The Comeback Pack's final plea on Halloween 2026. Fosters, a last-minute transporter and a donor came together on the last day he could be chosen, and he and his kennel mate Krueger are now safe and part of the pack.
