    Seniors for Seniors

    New program

Adults age 65+ can adopt a senior dog (age 7+) from The Comeback Pack for FREE — modeled after a program from Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary. We'd love to match seniors up with a new bestie.

You'll still need to submit an application and be approved through our normal adoption process.

Every adoption includes a starter kit

    While supplies last

To give every adoption the safest possible start, every dog adopted from The Comeback Pack currently goes home with a travel harness and seat belt clip — plus the rest of the kit shown below.

    • Travel harness + seat belt clip
    • Leash and collar
    • Treats
    • Grooming kit
    • Puzzle toy
    • Comeback Pack tote bag

Every adopter signs an Adoption & Lifetime Care Agreement covering lifetime care, ongoing veterinary care, and medical/behavior disclosure — you can preview a sample copy on the Resources page before you apply.

    What happens after you apply

Every person helping at The Comeback Pack is a volunteer — thank you for your patience. Here's what to expect once you submit your application.

    1. 1

      Application review

We review your application — this may take a few days.

    2. 2

      Phone call

If approved, we'll text you to schedule a call to get to know you and make sure the dog is a good fit — we may also ask for a brief video walkthrough of your home.

    3. 3

      Meet & greet

Usually in Menifee or Murrieta, with the foster family — meet the dog, ask questions, and see if it's the right fit. Your current dogs don't need to come along. We offer one meet and greet per applicant, out of respect for our volunteers' time.

    4. 4

      Adoption finalized

Sign the adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and take your dog home that day (unless other arrangements are made in advance). We don't hold dogs — they remain available to other adopters until an adoption is finalized.

Not ready to adopt, but want to help?

Fostering is a great way to help a dog like Dumplin' without a lifetime commitment — we provide the supplies, vet care, and guidance.
