Every dog has a story
Lilith
Lilith is about 2 years old and 56 pounds of shiny gray perfection, with soulful eyes, ridiculously cute ears and freckled toes. She's a happy, affectionate, people-loving girl who walks well on a leash, rides great in the car, and is great with other dogs after proper introductions. She came into the shelter as a stray and was rescued the day she was scheduled to die.

Their Journey So Far
Freedom Ride
September 30, 2026Yesterday, this girl was supposed to die. She was on the euthanasia list with a 2:00 p.m. deadline: no extension, no extra time, the unfortunate reality when shelters run out of space. But 2:00 came and went, and she was no longer in the shelter. She was in a car, headed toward safety. When we first heard about the eight dogs on the list, we hoped we could save one. Then people came together: fosters stepped up, volunteers dropped everything, plans were made, and somehow we were able to save three. Three lives that almost ended. They may not have understood what was coming at 2:00, but watching this video, we're pretty sure they understood this: they were safe, they were free, and they had been rescued. Welcome to The Comeback Pack, babies. Your comeback starts now. A few important thank-yous: the shelter we worked with was incredibly collaborative and moved quickly to process everything; Wendy and Kyle helped with transport; Blake stepped up to foster, and because Blake said yes, we were able to say yes to saving that third life; and everyone honoring their pledges. This is what rescue looks like: people coming together to make the save possible.
The Kissy Monster
October 3, 2026Lilith is about 2 years old and 56 pounds of shiny gray perfection, with soulful eyes, ridiculously cute ears, and the sweetest little freckled toesies. But as pretty as she is, her personality is what really gets you. She's a happy, affectionate, people-loving girl who seems to believe there's no such thing as too much love, or too many kisses. She's sweet, silly, confident, and wonderfully happy-go-lucky, and she's also perfectly capable of settling down and relaxing. Right now she's discovering some of the finer things in life, like beds. Apparently no one told her humans invented giant soft squares specifically for lounging, and she'd like to know why that was withheld for so long. Watching her settle into home life and realize she gets to be comfortable, safe and loved has been pretty special. She walks well on a leash, rides great in the car, and has done wonderfully on outings. She appears to be house trained and is great with other dogs after proper introductions; she has lived with both small and large dogs, and spent a short time with cats without incident. Like any rescue dog, she'll benefit from a family willing to give her structure, consistency and a little time to settle in. Lilith originally came into the shelter as a stray. When the shelter ran out of space, this beautiful, healthy young dog ended up on the euthanasia list, and we rescued her on the very day she was scheduled to die, for no reason other than there wasn't a kennel available for her. Lilith already got her comeback. Now our kissy monster just needs the family who looks at that sweet gray face and realizes she was supposed to be theirs all along.

A Certified Cheese Monster
October 4, 2026We're just going to say it: whoever adopts Lilith is going to be insufferably lucky. From rescue to foster home, this girl has wasted absolutely no time showing us what an incredible dog she is. Lilith is great with other dogs, loves to play fetch, loves to snuggle, and she's crate trained. The only catch? She's not particularly interested in going into the crate on her own. Luckily, we've cracked the code: cheese. Toss one tiny piece of cheese inside and suddenly the crate is her best friend. Once she's in, she's quiet, mellow, relaxed, and perfectly content. Lilith is a certified cheese monster, and frankly, we respect it. She's playful, affectionate, ridiculously lovable, and genuinely just one of the best dogs ever. And did we mention how photogenic she is? Want to make all your friends jealous? Adopt Lilith.
Beauty and Personality
October 8, 2026Warning: this much beauty and personality in one dog should be illegal. Lilith is the definition of a lovable, nurturing, goofy pittie girl! She's house trained, does great with other dogs with proper introductions, loves to play fetch, and is ridiculously friendly, affectionate, and sweet. She's got the looks, but it's her big, beautiful personality that'll steal your heart! Her foster family absolutely adores her (and who could blame them?!), but this girl deserves a forever family to call her own. Could it be yours?

Netflix & Chill Buddy
October 11, 2026Rainy SoCal days were made for movies, cozy blankets, and a dog to snuggle with, and Lilith would like to audition for the role of your permanent Netflix and chill buddy. We have so many adorable photos and videos of this girl to share in the coming days, but this clip of Lilith watching a movie with her foster family was just too good not to share on a rainy Southern California day! And honestly? Lilith is pretty much the whole package. She's potty trained and crate trained, dog friendly with proper introductions, and loves playing fetch. She's a professional kisser and expert snuggler, an excellent brewery companion, and great in the car and on outings, including trips to Kahoots. Basically, she's gorgeous, affectionate, well-mannered, and ridiculously lovable. What more could you want? If your couch has room for one more, or your Netflix account is seriously lacking a cuddle buddy, Lilith would love to meet you! P.S. She won't judge your movie choices. She's just happy to be invited.
Zero Applications
October 17, 2026Caution: this dog is a serial kisser. Lilith the Kissy Monster needs a home! Seriously, how has this amazing girl not received a single adoption application?! Lilith is awesome. She's about 2 years old, 56 pounds of gorgeous gray perfection, and one of the sweetest, happiest, most affectionate dogs you'll ever meet. She loves people and gives unlimited kisses, is great with other dogs with proper introductions, is fantastic in the car and on outings, is house trained and crate trained, and is equal parts adventure buddy and professional snuggler. Lilith was rescued from a high-kill shelter on the very day she was scheduled to be euthanized. And since then, she's done nothing but impress us. She's sweet, silly, confident, well-behaved, and just an all-around fantastic dog. And we've received zero applications for her. Not one! We know her people are out there. Let's help them find her!
The Cure for a Lack of HHH
October 22, 2026Do you suffer from a lack of HHH? That's Happy House Hippo, and fortunately, we have the cure. Her name is Lilith. Lilith is 56 pounds of gorgeous gray goofball, with the brains of a genius and the personality of someone who eats crayons. She's an expert at fetch, a professional face kisser, a world-class snuggler, and an all-around very good girl. She's great with other dogs (with proper introductions), adores people, and approaches life with the enthusiasm of someone who just found out it's Friday. Oh, and she's the perfect movie date. She will literally sit on the couch and watch movies with you, and she's even happy to compare notes afterward, although her analysis tends to focus heavily on snack availability. At about 2 years old, Lilith is smart, affectionate, adventurous, ridiculously pretty, and just the right amount of ridiculous. If your life could use a little HHH, Lilith is accepting applications!
An Absolute Goober
October 28, 2026Twenty-five seconds of Lilith being an absolute goober, and the team is asking how this girl hasn't been adopted yet. She's beautiful, hilarious and affectionate, a total daddy's girl who loves pretty much everyone. She's dog friendly, crate trained and house trained, loves a game of fetch, and has a gift for making humans smile. We can pretty much guarantee she'll make you smile every day for the rest of her life. This sweet, silly girl deserves a family of her very own. Could it be yours?
