Skipper
Skipper is Gilligan's bigger brother and one of Ginger's three newborn puppies, born just before his mama walked out of the shelter with her whole litter on 2026-09-02. Like his siblings Gilligan and Mary Ann, he was named for a crew of famous castaways. He's eating, growing, and being ridiculously tiny in his foster home, and he is now accepting adoption applications. He has since gone home with his new family.

Welcome Aboard
September 7, 2026Meet Skipper, Gilligan's bigger brother. Mama Ginger gave us two boys and one girl, and naturally, we had to give this little crew names worthy of their adventure. We're happy to report that everyone is doing amazing: the babies are eating and growing, and Mama is eating well and taking such wonderful care of her little beans. Right now, his days consist mostly of eating, sleeping, snuggling, and being ridiculously tiny. But before we know it, those little eyes will open, those wobbly legs will get moving, and he will turn into an actual puppy with a personality all his own. He has an incredibly gentle mama and has been safely and appropriately handled with love literally since the day he was born. He will be ready for adoption in about seven weeks, but for now, we get the absolute joy of watching he grow.

Accepting Adoption Applications
October 23, 2026Three little castaways are officially accepting adoption applications! Skipper, Gilligan, and Mary Ann are ready to find their forever families. Their story started with quite the surprise: their mama, Ginger, was at the shelter when staff arrived one morning to discover she'd given birth to three beautiful babies. Nobody even knew she was pregnant! A shelter is no place for a mama and her newborn puppies, so we rushed over and rescued the entire family. They've been growing up in a loving foster home ever since. Skipper is our handsome little chonker who looks just like his beautiful mama! All three are shepherd mixes, born September 1, 2026. They've been raised around dogs, cats, kids, and adults, and they're used to being held, cuddled, kissed, and absolutely adored. They're incredibly affectionate, well-socialized puppies with the sweetest dispositions, just like their mama. Ginger weighs approximately 45 pounds, and we estimate her puppies will be around 50 to 60 pounds fully grown. Important adoption information: we are located in Murrieta, California, and accepting applications now. Preference will be given to qualified local adopters. Spaying or neutering between 4 and 6 months of age is a strict adoption requirement. This is nonnegotiable. As a rescue, we take our responsibility to prevent unwanted litters very seriously, and we ask that applicants be fully committed to this requirement. These three little island babies have known nothing but love since the day they were born, and we're determined to make sure the rest of their lives are just as wonderful.
Officially Available
October 26, 2026Skipper is officially available for adoption! At just 8 weeks old, he and his siblings Gilligan and Mary Ann are already off to an incredible start in life, thanks in large part to their amazing mama, Ginger. Skipper is a handsome, chunky little heartbreaker. These puppies have been lovingly handled and socialized with people since day one, and they've grown up surrounded by love, attention and other animals. They're happy, affectionate, well-socialized puppies who are great with kids, cats and other dogs. This is going to sound like a lie, but we haven't received a single application for any of Ginger's babies. Because the puppies are still so young, we're looking for families where someone is home the majority of the day to provide the love, guidance, attention and training that puppies need to thrive. Preference will be given to local adopters, as they will still need to complete their spay/neuter procedures when they're old enough.

October 30, 2026Our sweet Skipper went home today! Skipper was one of Mama Ginger's unexpected puppies, and while these babies have known love and safety from the beginning, their mama wasn't so lucky. Ginger spent so much of her life being a mama that she never really got the chance to just be a dog. But yesterday, Ginger was spayed, and she's now blossoming in a loving foster home, gaining confidence and discovering what it means to be loved just for being herself. And now her beautiful babies are getting the head start in life that she never had. We're so thankful to Skipper's wonderful adopters, the incredible foster family who cared for these puppies, and everyone who helped make this possible! His equally adorable sister, Mary Ann, is still available for adoption!
