1. Welcome Aboard

   September 7, 2026

   Meet Gilligan, the littlest boy. Mama Ginger gave us two boys and one girl, and naturally, we had to give this little crew names worthy of their adventure. We're happy to report that everyone is doing amazing: the babies are eating and growing, and Mama is eating well and taking such wonderful care of her little beans. Right now, his days consist mostly of eating, sleeping, snuggling, and being ridiculously tiny. But before we know it, those little eyes will open, those wobbly legs will get moving, and he will turn into an actual puppy with a personality all his own. He has an incredibly gentle mama and has been safely and appropriately handled with love literally since the day he was born. He will be ready for adoption in about seven weeks, but for now, we get the absolute joy of watching he grow.

2. Accepting Adoption Applications

   October 23, 2026

   Three little castaways are officially accepting adoption applications! Skipper, Gilligan, and Mary Ann are ready to find their forever families. Their story started with quite the surprise: their mama, Ginger, was at the shelter when staff arrived one morning to discover she'd given birth to three beautiful babies. Nobody even knew she was pregnant! A shelter is no place for a mama and her newborn puppies, so we rushed over and rescued the entire family. They've been growing up in a loving foster home ever since. Gilligan is our snuggly little heartbreaker with the most ridiculously adorable floppy ears! All three are shepherd mixes, born September 1, 2026. They've been raised around dogs, cats, kids, and adults, and they're used to being held, cuddled, kissed, and absolutely adored. They're incredibly affectionate, well-socialized puppies with the sweetest dispositions, just like their mama. Ginger weighs approximately 45 pounds, and we estimate her puppies will be around 50 to 60 pounds fully grown. Important adoption information: we are located in Murrieta, California, and accepting applications now. Preference will be given to qualified local adopters. Spaying or neutering between 4 and 6 months of age is a strict adoption requirement. This is nonnegotiable. As a rescue, we take our responsibility to prevent unwanted litters very seriously, and we ask that applicants be fully committed to this requirement. These three little island babies have known nothing but love since the day they were born, and we're determined to make sure the rest of their lives are just as wonderful.

   

3. Officially Available

   October 26, 2026

   Gilligan is officially available for adoption! At just 8 weeks old, he and his siblings Skipper and Mary Ann are already off to an incredible start in life, thanks in large part to their amazing mama, Ginger. Gilligan is the sweetest little snuggle bug with adorable floppy ears. These puppies have been lovingly handled and socialized with people since day one, and they've grown up surrounded by love, attention and other animals. They're happy, affectionate, well-socialized puppies who are great with kids, cats and other dogs. This is going to sound like a lie, but we haven't received a single application for any of Ginger's babies. Because the puppies are still so young, we're looking for families where someone is home the majority of the day to provide the love, guidance, attention and training that puppies need to thrive. Preference will be given to local adopters, as they will still need to complete their spay/neuter procedures when they're old enough.

4. Gilligan Has Left the Island

   October 30, 2026

   Our adorable Gilligan went home today, too! That's TWO of Mama Ginger's babies starting their happily ever after on the same day! These puppies were an unexpected litter, born to a mama who hadn't yet been given the chance to live a life of her own. But their story is turning out so differently. While Gilligan begins his new adventure with a family who will love him from puppyhood, Mama Ginger is finally getting her own fresh start. Ginger was spayed yesterday, she's safe in a loving foster home, and she's becoming more confident and happy every day. Her puppies are getting the childhood she never had, and Ginger is finally getting the life she deserves. Thank you to Gilligan's new family, the amazing foster family who cared for these babies, and all our supporters! And don't forget, their beautiful sister Mary Ann is still looking for her forever home!
