Pretty
Pretty was sitting in an overcrowded shelter when one of the volunteers took an immediate liking to her. She's about a year old, a Dutch Shepherd mix around 43 pounds, and by the pack's own accounting there is not one bad thing to say about her. Spayed, essentially house trained, great with other dogs, and ridiculously happy to be here, this family dog just needs a family of her own.

Welcome to the Pack
August 29, 2026Pretty was sitting in an overcrowded shelter when one of the volunteers took an immediate liking to her — and once you meet this girl, it's really not hard to understand why. She's about 11 months old, and we believe she's a Dutch Shepherd mix. But her actual breed? One hundred percent pure sweet. She's incredibly friendly, outgoing, affectionate and gentle. She's very smart, eager to please, dog friendly, kid friendly, and just an all-around amazing young dog. We have tried. We genuinely cannot come up with one bad thing to say about her. Pretty is now safely out of the shelter and settling into a loving foster home. Next up, we'll be getting her spayed, and then she'll be ready to start looking for the family lucky enough to call her theirs. We are so incredibly thankful to Pretty's foster family for seeing what an amazing dog she is and opening their home and their hearts to give her this chance. Fosters are quite literally the reason we can say yes to dogs like Pretty. Pretty's forever family is out there. But for now, she's safe. She's loved. And her next chapter has officially begun. Spay Day
September 4, 2026Pretty and Fawn may look a little pitiful today, but these two girls just got one of the greatest gifts we can give them. They were both spayed today, which means Pretty can head into her next chapter without ever having to worry about pregnancy or unwanted litters. Just a carefree life filled with a family who loves her, adventures, belly rubs, and all the good stuff she deserves. This is such an important part of rescue, and your support is what makes it possible. A Family Dog Without a Family
September 5, 2026Her name is Pretty, and although she's gorgeous, we probably should have called her Joy, because this girl is just ridiculously happy to be here. About a year old, a Dutch Shepherd mix, around 43 pounds. Pretty was rescued from an overcrowded shelter after what we can only assume was a pretty rough start to life, but you would never know it from meeting her. She is outgoing, confident, gentle, affectionate, and absolutely delighted by people. She approaches life like she just won the lottery, and honestly, maybe she knows she did. Pretty loves her people. Belly rubs? Yes. Couch cuddles? Absolutely. Being included in whatever you're doing? Non-negotiable. Her foster mom says her least favorite thing might simply be being left out; Pretty has some serious FOMO and is happiest wherever her humans and dog friends happen to be. She also loves other dogs and has been having a blast with the dogs in her foster home. She's playful and still has some goofy puppy energy, but she's not hyper: she'll happily wrestle and romp outside, then come inside and completely pass out on the couch. She's still learning that not every dog wants to party quite as enthusiastically as she does, and she's already getting much better at reading their cues. For a girl who's still figuring out this whole family-dog thing, she's doing amazingly well. Pretty is essentially house trained and learning her new routine, has made huge progress with crate training and sleeps in her crate overnight, walks beautifully on leash without pulling, and is an excellent passenger in the car. One of the sweetest things about Pretty is watching her discover normal life. Sometimes it seems like she's experiencing the simplest things for the very first time, and every day a little more of her personality comes out. And what a personality it is. She's silly. She's snuggly. She's playful. She's affectionate. She's confident and curious about the world. She loves balls and stuffed animals, naps and adventures, other dogs and, most of all, being part of a family. Her foster mom described it perfectly: Pretty is blossoming. Now this sweet family dog just needs a family of her own.
