Every dog has a story

    Stormy Skye

Stormy Skye tested positive for parvo right after her rescue as an underage puppy. After weeks of careful care from her foster family she beat it, blossomed into a happy, confident, playful little girl, and now has the very best part of her story: a family of her very own, with a kid to grow up with.

    In Their Forever Home

    Their Journey So Far

    1. Rescued

      August 17, 2026

We received a rescue plea for a beautiful, underage puppy at a local shelter. We were ready to say yes — and then came the news we didn't want to hear: she tested positive for parvo. But we said yes anyway. Today, Stormy Skye officially became a Comeback Pack dog. Thank you to our volunteer who gave this sweet girl her freedom ride from the shelter and delivered her safely to her foster home (and of course to her fabulous foster!), where she is now quarantined and receiving outpatient care. So far she's doing really well. We named her Stormy Skye for those incredible blue eyes — but also because this little girl is weathering a storm right now. And we know storms don't last forever. There are brighter skies waiting for her ahead.

    2. The Cost of Recovery

      August 19, 2026

Little Stormy is still doing well, and at this point we're feeling very optimistic! The hardest part right now is just keeping this social little baby in isolation while she recovers — so we've loaded her foster up with supplies and protective gear, including medical gowns, so they can safely give her all the snuggles. She can't play with other pups yet, but she is definitely not short on attention, cuddles, or love. Parvo treatment isn't cheap, though, and the bills are adding up faster than we expected. If you'd like to help cover Stormy Skye's vet care, you can donate any amount via Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal, or join us at Reiki for Rescuers or Animal Trivia — two upcoming fundraisers where your ticket goes straight toward dogs like her. Every bit helps keep this little girl on the road to health.

    3. Parvo-Free & Making Up for Lost Time

      August 22, 2026

The news we've been waiting for: Stormy is parvo-free! She's now had two negative parvo tests, and for the first time, she gets to simply be a puppy. Quarantine is behind her, and she's healthy, playful, curious, silly, and affectionate — busy discovering toys, exploring her foster home, and apparently making up for lost time: being ridiculously cute, stealing everyone's heart, and stealing everyone's shoes. Our best guess is that she's a Rottweiler/Husky mix, but with a puppy this young, your guess is as good as ours! Stormy is almost ready for adoption — she just needs about one more week — but you don't have to wait to apply. If those blue eyes already have you wrapped around her tiny paw, head to thecomebackpack.org and submit an adoption application now. And because she's in that in-between stage, we're also open to a local (Murrieta-area) foster-to-adopt home: apply to foster and let us know you're interested in potentially adopting her. Her storm is behind her. Now it's time for her comeback.

    4. The "Feelin' Cute" Series

      August 22, 2026

Little Stormy Skye might just be the funnest puppy ever — she's sweet, affectionate, playful, silly, and everything a puppy should be. She's so stinkin' cute that we're kicking off a "Feelin' Cute" series starring her, with one adorable photo each day. Rescuing Stormy wouldn't have been possible without her amazing foster family — we simply cannot stress enough how important fosters are; we can't do it without them! Stormy will officially be ready for adoption next week, but if you've already fallen in love, you don't have to wait to apply. You can submit an adoption application now at thecomebackpack.org.

    5. Feelin' Cute: Household Domination

      August 24, 2026

Stormy is back with another installment of Feelin' Cute — and apparently she's already making plans for household domination. Want to help us keep saying yes to puppies like Stormy? Join us at our Animal Trivia Fundraiser on Saturday, September 5th at 12:00 PM at Grey Iron Brewing Company in Menifee — $25 a person gets you trivia, raffles, food, and a cold beer, all while helping rescue dogs get their own comeback. Stormy got her chance at a comeback. Now help us save the next one. Want to get your adoption application for Stormy in early? Visit thecomebackpack.org.

    6. Officially Available for Adoption

      August 25, 2026

It's official: Stormy is up for adoption! After testing positive for parvo, weathering isolation, and coming out the other side completely parvo-free, this playful, silly, sweet puppy (our best guess: a Rottweiler/Husky mix) is ready to start looking for her forever family. She won't head home until this weekend — she still needs a couple more vaccine boosters and her spay first — but we're accepting applications now. Because she's young and needs that extra vet care, we're giving priority to qualified applicants local to the Murrieta, CA area. Ready to make her the luckiest addition to your family? Apply at thecomebackpack.org.

    7. Roughhousing with Uncle Dumplin'

      August 27, 2026

When Stormy was in isolation, the hardest part wasn't the parvo — it was keeping a puppy this social away from other dogs. That's behind her now, and this is what it looks like: full-speed, all-in, nothing-held-back play with Uncle Dumplin'. She's sweet, friendly, and thoroughly rambunctious, and watching her go, one thing is obvious — she'd love a home with another playful dog who can keep up with her.

    8. A Few Days at Our House

      August 31, 2026

Her foster family was out of town for a few days, so Stormy Skye came to stay with us — and having her in the house was pure joy. She's sweet, funny, playful, affectionate, and an all-around awesome little puppy, and after everything she went through so early in her life, watching her this happy and this healthy is something we don't take for granted. She went home to her foster family tonight, and our co-founder Marc is already missing her. If you've been following Stormy's updates and you're on the fence about applying for her, this is your sign: just go for it.

    9. Wanted: A Partner in Crime

      September 3, 2026

Stormy Skye has one tiny complaint about her foster home: her roommates are boring. She keeps trying to convince her older foster siblings that wrestling, chasing, and general puppy nonsense are excellent ways to spend the day, and they respectfully disagree. So at about ten weeks old, she's taking applications for a new position: playful sibling, best friend, and partner in crime. She loves everyone, and although she's safe in her foster home, what she'd really love is a forever mischief buddy. If your dog has been begging you for a puppy, Stormy would like you to know that she is available and ready to report for duty.

    10. Stormy Needs a Foster

      September 5, 2026

Our tiny blue-eyed tornado is looking for a place to crash while she waits for her forever family. Stormy is hilarious, mischievous, playful, affectionate, and full of puppy energy. She would especially love a home with another playful dog who appreciates her particular brand of chaos. Fostering is temporary, but it gives Stormy exactly what she needs while we find her perfect match. We provide the supplies and veterinary care. You provide the safe place and the love. And if you're already thinking, "But what if I fall in love with her?" Well, she's available for adoption too. Fosters must be local, near Murrieta, CA. Stormy's next stop should be a foster or forever home.

    11. Adopted!

      September 6, 2026

Stormy Skye is adopted! Our little survivor officially has a family of her very own. Stormy came into our lives as a tiny puppy who needed a comeback, and watching her blossom into the happy, confident, playful little girl she is today has been such a joy. And now she gets the very best part of her story: a family who absolutely adores her. A kid to grow up with, people to snuggle, adventures to have, and a whole lifetime of being loved exactly as she deserves. We are so happy for this sweet girl and her wonderful new family. Seeing that little face right where she belongs is what rescue is all about. Happy adoption day, Stormy Skye! You did it, baby girl. Here's to one epic Comeback.
