Every dog has a story

    Dean Winchester

Dean may have been the smallest puppy in the litter, but nobody ever told him that. Confident, curious, and endlessly entertaining, he greeted every new person and every new dog like they were about to become his best friend — and now he's home for good.

    In Their Forever Home

    Their Journey So Far

    1. Rescued

      July 23, 2026

Some monsters are real. Someone abandoned Dean and his brother Sam, two tiny Heeler puppies, at just 3 weeks old — an age when they still needed their mom for everything. But evil didn't win this time: a network of kind people, Robin and Lina, networked the boys until they found their way to The Comeback Pack, and foster Danielle opened her home to keep them safe until we could step in. We named him Dean Winchester — like his namesake from Supernatural, he'd already defeated his first monster, and from here on out he'd have a whole team fighting beside him.

    2. Growing Fast

Dean got a clean bill of health (and lots of kisses) at the vet! He wasn't quite ready to be posted for adoption yet — this little guy just needed a bit more time to grow.

    3. Foster Found

Now almost 7 weeks old, Dean is officially in his fun puppy era — playing, wrestling, exploring, and crashing for the sweetest snuggles. He needed to stay together with his brother Sam, and a local foster home in the Temecula/Murrieta area stepped up to keep them until they're ready for adoption. The good news: there's already adoption interest waiting for him.

    4. A New Friend

      August 2, 2026

Dean made a new friend in his foster home: Violet, a French Bulldog who survived years of abuse and now sleeps safe and loved. She's been sharing her bed with Dean and his brother Sam while her family fosters them too. As their foster family put it, "From rescued... to rescuer." Every rescue creates a ripple effect, and Dean is living proof.

    5. Officially Adoption Ready

      August 5, 2026

Dean is finally old enough for adoption, with his official website debut coming next week. Can't wait that long? Meet him and his brother Sam in person at the Foster Pup Social on Wednesday, August 12, 6-8pm at Grey Iron Brewing in Menifee — a casual, no-pressure meetup (no on-site adoptions, but a great first hello).

    6. Get to Know Dean

      August 8, 2026

Dean's official bio is live: born around June 10, 2026, he's growing into a wonderfully social, well-rounded Blue Heeler who's just as happy investigating something new as he is curled up as a world-class snuggler. Raised around other dogs and cats, he's smart, eager to learn, and full of that classic Heeler drive, so we're looking for adopters excited to channel his energy into training and enrichment. He's expected to mature to about 40 pounds. His $400 adoption fee covers age-appropriate puppy vaccinations, rabies vaccination, neuter, and microchip — and because we require neutering between 4 and 6 months, preference goes to local adopters, though exceptional long-distance homes will be considered.

    7. Adopted!

      August 13, 2026

Our very first adoption! Dean is officially off to his forever family. From being dumped as a tiny puppy to growing into the spunky, hilarious little guy we'd all fallen in love with, Dean made one incredible comeback — and now he gets to start the very best chapter of his story, with a family who absolutely adores him. Carry on, our wayward son.

    8. A Checkup with Guillermo

      August 22, 2026

We got to visit Dean — now named Guillermo — for his vaccination appointment today, and he's so happy with his new family. It's so fun to watch him grow up!
